Obligatory App post

Character: Shiro (18782)
Series: Black&White
Character Age: Appears late teens
Canon:The world is split into two and never do the two meet. The Angels are in their heaven; white, pure, benevolent savers of souls. The Demons are in their darkness; black, crude, immoral takers of innocent souls. Yet the fated meeting of two outcasts, who coincidentally have the same number tagged onto their backs, sends these perfect harmonies into disarray. The Black Angel, Kuro, is told about five mystical gems that are scattered across several different worlds. If he manages to collect all five, any one wish he desires will come true. Accompanied by fellow outcast and utter failure of a (white) demon, Shiro, he sets out on the tenuous journey, never aware of the dangers ahead of him.

Number 18782, Shiro, or ‘Useless Bastard’ to his fellow demons, is the one and only White Demon in a world of Black Demons. After finding a tape on starting and maintaining friendships, this demon comes to know and adore the concept, to everyone else’s dismay. Throwing all of himself into living out the things he learned, he values close connections to other people like himself. No matter what the desire a friend would have, he is more than willing to fulfill that desire for them. Shiro, at heart, is a very energetic, happy, fun-loving demon whose confidence can be easily beaten down. A little bit oblivious and armed with a well of useless talents and equally useless information, he becomes the most unlikely yet loyal friend a black angel could never want.

I’m sorry! Please let me start over.

All I really wanted was to be friends. I didn’t realize that when I’d go to shake your hand it would completely come off! Something like that never happened in the video. I can make this right. Here, let me just put your arm back in where it came off. For zombies this must be a pretty common thing, I imagine. Whenever you make a new friend, you just start to fall to pieces everywhere in excitement. It gets like that for me, too! I get so excited, but then people usually find me annoying, and then they ignore me. To be truthful, that sometimes happens even without making friends with them first, but you haven’t left yet! In fact you look sort of exuberant with the way you’re waving your arms at me. Be careful so they don’t fall off again.

I know what would be a great idea. We could make even more friends, together! Those sad noises you’re making must mean that you’re feeling pretty shy. Making friends isn’t hard at all. You see, I watched this video where a group of humans were all friends and on a baseball team together. There was a lot of cheering and having fun together. Well, there was, at first. But then when the captain threw his pitch, he was suddenly in pain! It was really dramatic, but his friends was concerned for him and went ‘Captain!’-- Wait! I’m sorry again, I got really far off topic. We were looking for friends for you and I went on and on about something else. I’m starting to think that my great idea might not work at all. Maybe they were right when they called me a useless bastard...

Who could we even make friends with? The fire-breathing ducks seem friendly, but I have the idea that the smell of rotting, burning flesh might be a little much to any other potential friend. Not to mention, it’s definitely not healthy for you to be set on fire, even if you’re already dead. I never realized making friends could be so hard. It looked so much easier on the video.

Wait, I know what I can do! I’m going to go find a place to watch my friendship video again. I’m sure if I do that it will have the answer I’m looking for. I’ll be able to help you yet, though I wonder where I can find a TV with a VCR in a place like this. I keep forgetting that video tapes are a dead format in this world! They’re almost as dead as you are. Does that mean I’ll never get to watch it again?!
